If You Only Make It To One Event This Culture Night, Make It This One

You may have already seen our six highlights of the Culture Night earlier today, but for those of you who still find six options just too damn many, here's our top pick for tonight: RTÉ on Meeting House Square.

RTÉ Radio 1’s Arena once again presents an outdoor broadcast from the Ark stage, with a three-hour-long programme that includes a mix of interviews, music, poetry, drama, comedy, and musical accompaniment from the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

Why did we pick this particular event, you ask? Simply because of the sheer variety of acts that will be performing in this one location, there's actually something for everyone. And if it's anything like last year, you can expect a jam-packed square with a buzzing atmosphere.

If it's music you're after, you can expect a variety of musical performances at the event, with singer-songwriters Lisa Lambe and Fiach Moriarty, baritone Simon Morgan, traditional groups Moxie, Enda O’Reilly, and Aoife Scott, plus The Rowsome Uilleann Piping Quartet.

Get your ribs tickled by comedians Darina Gallagher and Sinead Murphy, plus enjoy the theatrics of Pat Kinevane from Fishamble Theatre Company.

And if somehow none of the above is quite enough to float your boat this evening, you can also enjoy the poetry of Cat Brogan, Stephen James Smyth, and Clara Rose Thornton.

You can also bank on unspecified (and therefore intriguing) "little tasters" from the Dublin Theatre Festival and the Tiger Fringe Festival to complete the evening.

Tonight's performances will kick off at 7pm and continue until 10pm at Meeting House Square. Be sure to show up early if you want to be part of the festivities, because the square is set to fill up fast.
