Irish Shoppers Are Planning To Spend Less This Christmas According To New Survey

With more cranes in the sky than we've seen in a while, there are murmurings everywhere that the boom is back...

New restaurants and bars are cropping up on every street corner - with most establishments across the city absolutely jammers all week long - so, one could be forgiven for thinking that the economy is in fact on the up again.

However a new survey released by Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) has revealed that shoppers actually intend to be more prudent with their festive spend this year.

According to The Irish Independent, the study found that the majority of us think we spend too much on Christmas presents. The survey, carried out with 1,000 candidates found that the average bill will be €563 this year down from €600 in last year's research.
