If you are stuck for something to do this weekend then you could do worse than going to Dublin Zoo to help these three baby elephants celebrate their first birthday..
The three were born a year ago within a couple of days of each other
Kavi now weighs almost 700kg, the equivalent of the weight of a fully grown dairy cow. Little brother Ashoka weighs in at 500kg while little sister Samiya is a dainty 450kg. At birth they weighed in at 80kg, 70kg and 68kg respectively!
Head down to Dublin Zoo this Saturday or Sunday between 11-5
They’ll be swimming, paddling, playing with each other and generally having a good time. Zoo staff will be on hand to tell you all about how they’ll grow up. See you there!
A year on from their birth, the elephant calves still amaze us everyday! Visit the Zoo and see how fast they have grown!
