Just When You Thought We’d Seen The Last Of Them – Meet Storm Jake

As anyone who has already left the house this morning can confirm, it's pretty fucking rank out there.

Storm Jake has arrived with quite the bang, and it looks like he won't be letting up at any stage today.

There will be wind, snow, hail, rain and just about everything nasty the Irish weather system can throw at us...

Storm Jake will continue to feed down a core of strong to gale force winds westerly this morning - stormy infact for coastal areas of the west and southwest. Organised bands of heavy showers moving down in the flow too, merging to longer spells of rain locally, with wet snow in parts, along with the additional risk of thunder. Snow accumulations, mainly just for higher ground. 

Scattered blustery showers in turn for this afternoon, mainly of rain or perhaps hail, with some sunny spells developing. Winds will veer northwesterly and will be mostly strong and gusty. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees; feeling even colder with an added wind chill effect.

Winds will ease early tonight and showers will fade. However with clearing skies and light westerly breezes, a slight to sharp frost, and the risk of ice will set in. Cold, with lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees Celsius.
