A man in his 30s has been arrested following a standoff with the Garda Armed Response Unit in Dublin last night.
Gardaí were called to a house in the Hamptonwood Way area of Finglas in North Dublin at approximately 8.40pm after receiving calls concerning an armed man.
A live video posted to Facebook last night showed members of the Armed Response Unit with weapons drawn, facing a house.
According to Journal.ie, the man, who claimed to be armed, was talked down by trained negotiators and surrendered. He was then arrested and is being detained under the mental health act by Gardaí who confirmed that nobody was injured during the incident.
The incident was concluded by approximately 10pm.
