Gardaí identified a suspect in the ongoing Wicklow Mountains investigation yesterday following the eighth discovery of dismembered remains.
Gardaí announced yesterday evening that they had found the head of a woman in her late fifties 3km north of Glenmacnass waterfall at approximately 1pm yesterday afternoon following the initial discovery of a human torso near Old Military Road on Saturday evening.
The male suspect arrested in Wexford yesterday is believed to be a relative of the victim, according to Independent.ie. It has been reported that he came forward and presented himself to Gardaí.
Gardaí believe the woman was killed during a row in which she was hit over the head with a blunt instrument in Dublin and was then transported to the Wicklow Mountains where her body parts were found dispersed.
