A man has been attacked by four masked men outside a school yesterday morning in the Killinarden Heights area of Tallaght.

According to The Journal, the attack, which happened around 9am, is believed to be part of ongoing feud between a number of local families.

The incident involved four men, who were understood to be wearing balaclavas and armed with bats who then rammed the victim’s car, forcing him to mount the vehicle on a nearby path.

The road was populated by dozens of schoolchildren, who were ‘visibly distressed’ by the violent scenes.

The victim has yet to make a complaint to the Gardaí – strengthening rumours that this is the basis of a family feud.

The Garda Press Office has made a statement on the incident:

“Gardaí at Tallaght are investigating an incident which occurred at approximately 9am yesterday morning in the Killinarden Heights area. Two cars were involved in a collision , the male driver of one of the cars was assaulted by a number of men from the second car. No arrests have been made and Gardaí from Tallaght are continuing their investigations.”
