There’s no shortage of bright, ambitious entrepreneurs in Dublin setting up their own companies, and BrickBear Clothing Co. is a welcome new addition to the creative scene in our great city..
Specialising in round neck sweaters and T-shirts, BrickBear Clothing Co.’s garments sport cool psychedelic and comic book style prints. The namesake and logo for the label is a waistcoat-clad polar bear smoking a wooden pipe and wearing a bowler hat, sporting a suave but self assured smirk.
“We originally saw the bear as a cool logo for the gear but over time, and through Brian and Jordo’s drawings, he began to form a personality that we wanted to play on,” says Corcoran, one of the trio behind BrickBear Clothing Co.
Combining their talents of artwork and enterprise, the guys have a shared common goal for the company: “We all want to succeed but have fun in the process. Without trying to sound too… you know, we’d like BrickBear to stand as an example of what can be achieved when various aspects of art combine to produce a finished article,” Corcoran says with an unassuming smile.
Made from organic cotton and bamboo viscose, every jumper’s design is limited edition and unique; handprinted, hand-sewn and hand-stitched before being packaged and adorned with a personalised poem.
BrickBear Clothing Co. had their official launch last week in the Bernard Shaw which was a great success, but if you want to find out more about them or get your hands on your own piece of their clothing head along to their website for more information.
