Canadian director Denis Villeneuve’s latest film looks to cement him as a real master of mood and atmosphere.
Lensed once again by legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins, Sicario stars Emily Blunt as an FBI agent thrust into the murky, lawless border area between the US and Mexico, to aid in the escalating war on drugs.
Also featuring Josh Brolin and an Oscar-worthy turn from Benicio Del Toro, Sicario is 2 of the most intense hours you’ll spend in the cinema this year.

Cumberbitches, assemble! This live broadcast from London’s Barbican theatre sees the occasional Sherlock take on the title role in Shakespeare’s tragedy, which opened to varied responses in early August.
Thursday’s live broadcast, two weeks from the production’s closing night, has already sold out multiple screenings, with a number of encore performances screening at the Light House next week.
While reviews have been mixed, director Lyndsey Turner’s production looks to be visually striking, and at the very least, offers the chance to see Cumberbatch tackle one of Shakespeare’s most compelling characters.
Between this and Fassbdender’s Macbeth, fans of the Bard are spoiled for choice!

And now for something completely different... Marking the 40th anniversary of the Python’s classic comedy, this once off screening offers an opportunity to revel in the ridiculousness of The Holy Grail, with subtitles and a specially filmed introduction from the remaining Pythons.
Anyone who was present at the IFI Open day’s Life Of Brian screening will know that Python fans can get extremely animated.
So, if you’ve never had the pleasure of seeing one of the troupe’s comic masterpieces in a cinema, this one isn’t to be missed.
