While 1PM Sunday is destined to see pubs and living rooms across the country stuffed full of bodies cheering on the boys in green, that leaves a whole rake of hours free over the weekend for other activities.
We all know there's nowt better to be devoting that time to than the pursuit of quality live music! To help you along the way we've compiled a list and introduction to the five best out there in the city this weekend.
This week we've got potent homegrown bands, a techno one-man myth, American indie rockers on the up, an esteemed electronic duo and a former Smith. Enjoy!

Johnny Marr @ The Olympia
A verified guitar legend since the mid-80s, Marr has remained quite impressively culturally relevant over the years after The Smiths disbanded by teaming up with the likes of Modest Mouse and The Cribs.
