evanmusgrave

Maybe you didn’t get tickets in time, it ain’t your cup o’ cha, or you’re morally opposed to attending a festival that doesn’t involve mucky wellies…

But if you aren’t frequenting the RDS and its music-packed halls this weekend then fear not, there’s plenty of quality gigs happening around town and here is thepick of the bunch!

Friday

Years and Years @ Olympia

Blurring the line between electronic and actual pop music, Years and Years’s project has produced a number one single, a subsequent number two and a chart topping album over the past 12 months.

With a developing live act and brimming with confidence, the group makes its first major Irish appearance at the Olympia this Friday.

Saturday

Alarmist @ Sugar Club

This group of talented locals have released several EPs and have an impressively honed sound coming together.

Not only that, but Alarmist have been gathering international attention from electronic instrumental rock fans. Get into The Sugar Club this Saturday for a chance to witness an Irish act fast-becoming experts in their line of work!

Roisin O @ Whelans

One of the most hotly-tipped individuals in Irish music finishes up her nationwide tour with a headline homecoming gig in Whelans this Saturday night.

Roisin displays a maturity in songwriting well beyond her years to create vast, anthemic works complimented by her experienced, rousing voice. This is guaranteed to be a massive gig!

Sunday

Pyg Sundays presents: Nicky Siano

An absolute legend in disco circles and fond friend of Dub-a-lin town. Siano is back for another appearance so there’s nowhere else to go on Sunday night. Quality booking so well worth stopping by Pyg and showing up to work in bits on Monday morning.

Pick n’ Mix @ The Hub, Temple Bar

An ideal spot for some top notch taste of the groove later on on Sunday night.

This night has been bounced back since The Pepper closed and have been experimenting with the new venue, bringing in artists to display video art during sets.
