A few months ago we wrote about One Million Dubliners, the feature film which looks at Glasnevin Cemetery and the one million people that are buried there. Since being released last October the film has won awards from the Galway Film Fleadh, the Irish Film and Television (IFTA) awards and the Boston Irish Film Festival as well as being voted the Irish Times Readers’ Best Irish Film of 2014.

Most recently One Million Dubliners has beaten off stiff competition from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 to win the UK’s most prestigious award for religious broadcasting. In an event at the London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, One Million Dubliners claimed the main Sandford St Martin TV award.

Congratulations to Aoife Kelleher, Rachel Lysaght and the team behind the film on this massive achievement. If you haven’t managed to see the film yet, take a look at the trailer below – and put it at the top of your ‘movies to watch’ list immediately!
