If you pass the Constance Markievicz statue on your stroll into work or college each morning, you’ll surely have noticed something awry with the iconic idol first thing.
The figure has been shielded today, International Woman’s Day, to avert her eyes from the inequality women still face in the country she fought so hard for, some 100 years ago.

Workers Solidarity Movement Ireland took to Twitter to showcase how the Countess has been hidden away from the country that is still not honouring the equality she fought so hard for for over 100 years ago.
