We told you guys yesterday about a little green parrot that was on the loose flying around Dublin.
He was first spotted by a concerned Lovin Dublin reader in the Inchicore area who got in touch with us when she spotted the parrot in her garden.
She unfortunately was unable to take the parrot indoors as she owns cats.
But we later received some GREAT news…
A volunteer from Kildare’s Animal Foundation Wildlife Unit, Cathy Griffin, got in touch with us to let us know that the parrot had been safely captured (arrested) and that she had just collected it from Kilmainham Garda Station!
“Picked her up this evening from Kilmainham Garda Station on behalf of Kildare Animal Foundation Wildlife Unit which I volunteer for. Owner located and will be reunited this evening.”
Cathy Griffin
What are the odds?
And of course An Garda Síochána’s Twitter has something hilarious today.
“A bit of a flap today at Kilmainham GS. A potential recruit for the Air Support Unit was rescued. Bird in a cell due to being a flight risk.”
So many puns, we cannot cope.
