If you work in Dublin city centre and it happens to be sunny on a Friday evening in May, one of the first places you’ll think of flocking to is the Barge Pub.
And better still, it just got its big makeover in time for summer.
Last night hundreds of people made it along, with the atmosphere feeling closer to that of a music festival than a city centre pub.
If you weren’t there yourself, prepare for some serious FOMO…

Some might call it collective intelligence. Others will say it’s sunny in Dublin. #thebarge #summeriscoming pic.twitter.com/NtHQPiyhFY

It’s all fun and games until Ireland runs out of beer. #Dublin #thebarge pic.twitter.com/pBzedmy7oX

It wasn’t all sweetness and sunlight, though
while the pictures and mood were amazing, it’s a disgrace that people leave it in such a bad state. In other European cities where the weather is always good they’ll have their beers in parks or even on public transport – but they clean up after themselves.
Like everything, when it comes to booze we tend to get a little carried away.
Cycled through the canal and all along #TheBarge is destroyed by dirty bastards leaving their empty cans everywhere. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?
