Every so often, we stumble across an advertisement for an apartment in Dublin that completely knocks our socks off.
For all the wrong reasons.
In today’s edition of the Dublin housing market’s scary stories is this studio apartment on Harrington Street in Portobello, Dublin 8.
Yep, that’s it.
The ad, which can be seen here, doesn’t give the room’s dimensions, but we can definitely confirm that it’s teeny.
The advertisement in its entirety reads:
”****Location Location Location **** Recently refurbished studio apartment in this wonderful period house. Harrington Street is the perfect choice for all those on the look out for a single studio apartment that is positioned within a heartbeat of the city centre..Need to catch the Luas? It\’s no more than a minute\’s walk to Harcourt station. The best of the rest including Camden Street,Stephen\’s Green Grafton St & Trinity College are also a short stroll away. Viewing highly recommended as these won\’t last. ***EMAIL WITH FULL DETAILS ONLY***”
It also mentions that it boasts facilities such as cable television, washing machine, dryer, microwave and internet – but, worryingly, we see no sign of a bathroom.
As per current standards of residential rental accommodation in Ireland, the laws surrounding them effectively ban shared bathrooms and landlord-controlled heating systems on rented properties.
