A memorial wall in Temple Bar went up in flames yesterday evening before 6PM.
The monument, named ‘Somebody’s Child’, is located on the corner where Essex Street meets Exchange Street.
A spokesperson from An Garda Síochána told Dublin Live that they are currently looking into the incident but that it doesn’t appear to be suspicious.
Nobody was injured in the incident.

The monument was erected just over a year ago in Temple Bar in memory of children who died in Ireland’s Mother and Baby centres and were buried in mass graves throughout the country.
“With names and coffin plates we call back to the present… the babies and children buried in the dead of night with no priest, no cleric, no ritual, no mother beside them. […] Every living creature deserves to be grieved, deserves the ceremonies that value their existence.”

Such a terrible shame for a wonderful and important monument.
