PICS: This New Aungier Street Hot Spot Is Exactly Where You Should Be Heading For Lunch Today

katedemolder

Situated along the Camden Mile, Aungier Street is fast becoming one of the tastiest areas in town, serving up great food and coffee in almost every spot – and it’s new addition is no different.

Granthams Café only opened its doors a fortnight ago, and business seems to be absolutely booming.

The student-laden street is busy morning, noon and night, and owner David Regan has those in third level education to thank for its continued success.

“It’s been really well received. Especially now that the students are coming back after Christmas.”

David, an award winning barista, is a Lucan man born and bred, but spent years training in London under a World Barista Champion. So, yeah, you could say that he knows his stuff.

The Granthams staff make up their own speciality syrups in house, serving up a different “epic latte” every week – this week’s one is apricot and ginger.

The menu is fairly simple but delicious, a selection of toasted sandwiches.

The Jack McCarthy sandwich, pictured above, is made up of black pudding, rocket and tomato relish.

And doesn’t it look whopper?

Granthams Cafe is open from 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday, 10am – 5pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays.
