In this fascinating video from the RTÉ Archives, Dubliners on the streets were asked about their holiday plans.
Filmed in 1973, the interviews reveal how much has changed in this country in the last 40 years. The commotion caused by the presence of cameras and the awkwardness of some of the interviewees just goes to show how unfamiliar and novel the technology still was. Also, the hairstyles and handlebar moustaches make it worth a look alone.
Among the most popular destinations for people at the time were Spain and France. Click here to head over to the RTÉ Archives and watch the video.
