We are delighted to announce that Lovin Dublin will be taking part in Dalkey Book Festival this coming weekend..
Now in its sixth year, Dalkey Book Festival has previously hosted great speakers like the late, great Seamus Heaney, Bono and Salman Rushie but to name a few.
This weekend they are gearing up for their biggest year yet – with events taking place will be taking place in pubs, cafes, shops, schools and the local town hall as well as the medieval graveyard , the secret garden marquee and the Masonic Lodge.
Speaking to David McWilliams, the festival director he said “Dalkey Book Festival brings to Ireland all sorts of interesting people, who would not necessarily be in the country otherwise. You can hear Gabriel Byrne speaking about the power of Yeats, or Amanda Palmer telling us about The Power Of Asking – combining traditional literature with culturally relevant topics. Dalkey Book Festival brings you the best global names in the literary world with a serious local vibe.”
The schedule for the festival is bursting with talks, workshops, play and so much more. However, we’re particularly excited to be organising ‘The Next Billion’ event at 10.30am on Saturday June 13.
Not only will we have a top notch panel, including our own Niall Harbison, explaining how social media is changing your world, but we will also have a free and delicious breakfast served up by the champs at Staple Foods Dublin.
You can grab a freshly roasted coffee and hear how the world of social media is about to explode in ways we never imagined – tickets are flying out for this event already though, so act fast!
There will also be free guerrilla events popping up at anytime over the course of the four days, with amazing speakers so be sure to keep keep an eye on Dalkey Book Festival’s social media to be in the know!
