Out to Lunch with DJ Sprinkles and New Jackson
The legendary DJ Sprinkles aka Terre Thaemlitz is popping over from Tokyo to play in Ireland for the first time. He’s a celebrated house DJ, transgender theorist and has also created of a number of celebrated classic releases, so DJ Sprinkles’ four hour set will be quite the treat for the day that’s in it. Support on the night from homegrown, New Jackson makes this an unmissable double bill.
POGO: Loose Ends Present Seven Davis Jr
SDjr. is a trained gospel vocalist, raised on the classic vocal sounds of Prince and Aretha Franklin who combines soulful vocals with electronic beats. You won’t be able to stop your feet from moving once he takes to the stage in the Twisted Pepper tonight.
Hidden Agenda: GHOST CULTURE [LIVE]
London based producer ‘Ghost Culture’ is heading along to Opium Rooms for a special live show. He’s worked with the likes of Daniel Avery and Erol Alkan, and his debut release is on Phantasy Records, so he’s a seriously talented guy.
Sense X Trinity Ents: Dimitri From Paris
Suave gentleman and disco expert, Dimitri takes to the stage in Button Factory. There’ll be nothing but sweet sweet disco all night long.
GCN’s Eurovision Douze Points Party
Akin to Panti’s shindig, this is an annual affair but made all the more amazing with thanks to the Yes result, so expect some touching speeches from Gay Community News reps on the night. You’ll be able to watch the show live from Vienna on the big screen, with expert queer commentary, and each booth of six people in the Sugar Club – hilarity guaranteed!
The Building Society Summer Jam: Purple Disco Machine
Hangar’s warehouse space will be getting the deep funk treatment from Purple Disco Machine. Expect funk, 80, house & disco and tasty drinks promos.
Bodytonic, Well Known & All City Present MNDSGN
Hip hop and beats in the chill surroundings of the Bernard Shaw – just make sure you get down early and nab a good seat in the smoking area!
Mother presents – We Are Family – (ft. Le Galaxie & Jape DJ Sets)
Mother knows best, and this sell-out spectacle in District 8 is going to be all sorts of amazing – provided we take it easy on the celebrations and actually make it to the club tonight!
