We all have that one friend whose messages contain more emojis than actual text.

Well, their time has come.

An Emoji Spelling Bee will take place at The Black Sheep on Tuesday 21 March, where participants will "propose emoji versions of popular phrases, people, places or concepts".

Participants will advance through the competition when their emoji translations are selected by our panel of judges.

It's the first of its kind in Europe and while the prizes have yet to be confirmed, surely the knowledge that you have mad emoji skills is reward enough.

You'll find more info here.
