Alana Laverty

Deciding where to go for brunch of a Saturday is one of the most difficult decisions we face all week.

But luckily for you, my dear friend, we have done all of the deciding for you!

And today? You’re headed to The Hungry Duck in Kimmage, Dublin 12.

Positively dreamy.

You’ll find this lovely neighbourhood eatery perched on the corner of Kimmage Road West and Whitehall Road West — and once you do find it, you’ll never wanna leave.

The Hungry Duck opened its doors in January 2016 and has been much-loved ever since.

The Hungry Duck focuses on local artisan produce resulting in tasty and unique dishes across breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch menus.

Head chef and owner Aidan Noctor has worked everywhere from Dunbrody House and The Shelbourne to Odessa — so you know the food is gonna be legit.

Speaking of food…

Some of our fave brunch dishes:

  • Chorizo scrambled eggs on sourdough
  • The Hungry Duck bacon sarnie with Ballymaloe and a fried egg
  • Avo, poached eggs, buffalo mozz, tomato and pesto on bruschetta (the winner)
  • Eggs Benny/Florentine
  • French toast with vanilla infused mascarpone, maple syrup ‘n’ berry compote
  • Crepe with salted caramel ice cream

Perfect for all the Irish fit-fam-ers too…

And to drink?

You’ll have plenty to choose from.

From teas and Bell Lane artisan coffee to mimosas and bellinis <3

Recently The Hungry Duck also introduced an ‘a la carte’ Friday evening dinner menu accompanied by live jazz music.

And they also do catering, if you’ve any special occasions in the works.

Great vibes only.
