Hailing from Cabra in North Dublin, 36-year-old Aidan Keogh has revealed how his life has been turned around to become one of New York’s most in-demand celebrity make-up artists.

He’s been living and honing his craft in The Big Apple for the past 10 years, but only recently has he become the lucky MUA to paint the face of international supermodel, Kendall Jenner.

In an interview with the Irish Sun, he mentioned how he never forgot his humble beginning:

“I was an apprentice lithographic printer in Chapelizod when I was there for almost five years and I was miserable, I just didn’t fit in. I remember the September 11 terror attacks in New York when the twin towers collapsed and we all stood around the radio in shock.”

“That was the moment I said, ‘I need to find my happiness. Life is too short and I’m not going to continue being miserable.”

Aidan then managed to bag himself a job in MAC on Grafton Street.

After 10 years with the brand, Keogh then spread his wings and has moved on to working with some of the most famous faces in the world.

Not too shabby, eh?

According to Dublin Live, he credits his success to ”being from Cabra and a middle child of seven siblings” as that gave him thick skin.

About his work with Kendall, he said the following:

“Kendall has always been so good for me to work with. She knows what she likes, is pleasant and professional and is naturally beautiful so it’s a bonus she continues to ask me back.”
