A €20 million estate will be built by Dublin City Council in Ballyfermot.
Cornamona Court will be the largest development built by the council since the recession hit and will contain 16 two-bedroom houses, 12 three-bedroom duplexes and 29 apartments for senior citizens.
The 61 home estate will sit on the site of an old complex of bedsits that was demolished a decade ago to make room for senior citizen housing. That project was put on hold in 2009 when the economy crashed and has been left vacant since.
