Figures released under the freedom of information act have revealed that there were 12,913 boys and 12,296 girls born in Dublin in 2017.
The data, acquired by Dublin Live, also shows that eight babies of indeterminate gender were born in the capital last year.
Most babies were born at the National Maternity Hospital on Holles Street (8,409). The busiest day at the hospital was July 27 when 42 babies were born while just nine babies were delivered on February 2, April 2, and October 14.
The busiest day at the Rotunda was April 6 and the Coombe had 36 births on May 22, November 11 and December 29. Like Holles Street, October 14 was the quietest day at the Coombe with just seven babies born and September 3 was the least busy day at the Rotunda.
