This Is What Leinster’s New Grounds At The RDS Will Look Like

niallharbison

Leinster Rugby have been playing their games at the RDS for the last couple of years since their Donnybrook ground quickly became too small for their growing reputation in European rugby. The RDS is in need of an upgrade so a competition was held to choose a firm to design the new venue, and today we are getting our first look at the winner. Looks like it is going to be a world class family venue…

Speaking about the winning design, Michael Duffy, Chief Executive of the RDS said:

“The jury was unanimous in their selection of the Newenham Mulligan / Grimshaw entry. Their winning concept represents an exciting design response to a complex brief. Entries had to accommodate professional rugby, world class equestrianism and music concerts, in an already very busy events venue. These three elements were exceptionally well incorporated by the winning consortium who stood out for their understanding of the multi-faceted nature of the development and their vision for the RDS Arena.”
