Not sure how we feel about this.
The British pub chain JD Wetherspoon announced that it will open its fourth pub in the Republic of Ireland next week, located at The Old Borough in Swords.
The new Wetherspoon outlet is on the site of an existing pub which closed in 2000, and the company has invested €2.8 million in developing the establishment. And while the chain may be criticised for being devoid of atmosphere – the pubs have a no-music policy across the board – the good news is that 85 jobs are to be created as a result.
The Old Borough will officially open its doors next Tuesday, July 21 at 72 Main Street in Swords.
