Did someone say free movies? Yes we certainly did.

The Irish Film Institute (IFI) is holding its annual Open Day today, meaning that for the whole day, the public can wander in and enjoy the cinema for precisely zero monies.

Here are the screenings you can catch today.

1pm WHITE HEAT

1.30pm AMATEUR

2pm PLAY ON! SHAKESPEARE IN SILENT FILM

3.30pm SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS

3.45pm DISCO PIGS

4pm THE CLAN (EL CLAN)

5.45pm KING KONG

6pm HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE

6.20pm THE VIRGIN SPRING (JUNGFRUKÄLLAN)

8pm THE NEON DEMON

8.15pm AUDIENCE CHOICE (which you KNOW will be good)

8.30pm PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE

10.30pm THE ADVENTURES OF PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT

10.45pm REPO MAN

Hardcore cinephiles will also have the opportunity to get glimpse behind the scenes of the IFI with talks from their film archive staff, and they’ll even give you a chance to look inside the mysterious projection booth.

Tickets will be released an hour before each film’s scheduled screening time, all you have to do is queue at the relevant desk and pick up your tickets (limited to two per person) and that’s it.
