This Restaurant On Stephen’s Green Will Close Down Next Month

It’s just been announced that Thornton’s Restaurant on Stephen’s Green will close down on October 29.

Kevin Thornton, the eatery’s owner, revealed that his decision to shut its doors was prompted by the loss of its Michelin star last September.

Housed in The Fitzwilliam Hotel, the lease on the restaurant has recently expired and rather than renew a seven-year lease, the renowned chef instead chose to go in a different direction.

According to Irishtimes.com, Thornton hopes to set up a corporate and wedding catering business, as well as teaching cooking masterclasses from his Rathmines home.
