The Heuston to Cork train has been cancelled as of a few moments ago due to a mechanical issue.
Iarnód Éireann hinted that this would happen with a tweet stating a severe delay was caused in Mallow due to a mechanical issue.
15:20hrs Cork/Heuston is currently delayed in Mallow due to a mechanical issue, updates to follow.

The transport system then updated its followers to say that the service was being totally cancelled, due to aforementioned issue.
Update: 15:20hrs Cork/Heuston has been cancelled due to a mechanical issue, customers have been accommodated on 16:20hrs Hston/Cork service

The service was believed to have broken down, due to a not-yet-known reason.
