I know, we say every year that it’s getting earlier.
And I know that, in reality, it never is – and the idea of ‘waiting until after Halloween’ is more of a fanciful fabrication than something that ever really happened.
But still. There’s something about the sight of Christmas lights being put up as we enjoy a warm sunny day that seems very, very wrong – and so, we were just a little bit sad to receive word from Peter Rooney on Twitter that this is happening.
In a country where summer lasts about two days, it seems strange that we should let Christmas occupy almost a quarter of the entire year… but hey. Let’s all just shut up and go shopping.
