TV Show ‘First Dates’ Is Coming To Dublin – And Here’s Your Chance To Be A Background Dater

If you’re single and adventurous, step right up.

Channel 4’s hit show First Dates has just made its way to our shores in a production for COCO Television and RTÉ2.

If you haven’t seen the show, it features multiple blind dates taking place in one restaurant as everyone at home watches how they get on… whether it goes swimmingly or disastrously.

It’s all wonderfully voyeuristic.

But as these central dates are being recorded for the show, there are other first meetings taking place in the background of the restaurant. Everyone dining is on a first date, but most of them will not be recorded.

That’s where you come in. COCO Television is looking for the background diners to take part in the show. So you get to go on the blind date without the pressure of actually being the focus of the show.

First Dates

If this sounds like a bit of craic to you, you can apply for the show by calling phone 01 497 0817 or by clicking here

To apply you just have to answer a few really simple questions about yourself, like what’s your occupation, do you smoke, and what do you like to do in your spare time.

It’s nowhere near as tedious as PlentyOfFish, don’t worry.

The date will take place in a Dublin restaurant between January 15 and 18. The exact location and time for First Dates Ireland will be confirmed closer to the filming.

We all know someone who would be perfect for this, time to give ’em a shove.
