Two Luke Kelly statues are to set be erected in Dublin city centre.
The Dubliner passed away in January of 1984 of cancer.
According to Dublin Live, an exception was made to allow two memorials of the musician following the Kelly family’s dismay with the modern artwork piece commissioned by local authorities.
The first of two statues is set to be erected in Luke Kelly Park in Dublin’s Docklands – close to where the singer is from.
The second location is yet undecided, however, it is understood that it will be built on the south side of the city.
It’s hoped that the statue will be erected on Raglan Road in Ballsbridge – following the singer’s famous ballad of the same name.
