Simon Amstell

The wonderful mocking tones of Simon Amstell are set to return to Vicar Street tonight. “To Be Free” will be the award-winning comedian’s fourth international stand up tour and is sure to see the audience dissolving into giggles and guffaws as the BAFTA-nominated Brit’s offhand candour and intense honesty takes on themes of everyday life. And to think of how far he’s come since interviewing boybands on Popworld.

Pyg Sundays presents Rayko & Colin Perkins at Pygmalion

Spanish producer extraordinaire Rayko has been a leading light in the disco scene since 2008, the year he launched his magnificent Rare Wiri imprint. His style is cemented firmly in ’70s and ’80s disco, funk, boogie and rock. You may not recognise his name but guarantee you know his amazing edit of Candi Staton’s ‘Broadway’ or his version of ‘All Along The Watch Tower’ which is one of Move D’s absolute favourites, and features in practically all his sets. Sundays at Pygmalion are the dream – 40% of drinks, and a whole load of people refusing to accept that it’s technically a school night – get involved.
