We've rounded up the best events on in Dublin this weekend. So if you're not sure what your plans are yet, you've loads to choose from!
Happenings: Dirty Dancing on Merrion Square
Happenings is screening Dirty Dancing this evening at 10pm in Merrion Square. The gates open at 8.30pm so get there on time to grab a square of grass with a good view. Irish Village Markets are doing the food so you can enjoy a dose of the best cheesy movie of all time with some tasty bites to eat. The weather is scorching too, so more reason to spend it outdoors.
Wave Forza at the Odessa
This Friday, Wave Forza will bring artists from Berlin, Brooklyn and Seoul to the Odessa. Rocking it this evening will be the crazy 4-piece international future group DUST with elements of analogue techno, future acid, and art-house digital noise paralleled with hyper-processed vocals and raw erotic chaotic energy. You can buy tickets here.
The Liberties Festival
The Liberties Festival is the oldest in the city and offers a whole range of activities this week up until Saturday from family, sporting and community events to a whole range of performance acts. The festival will encompass art, film, dance, comedy, literature and music. We're particularly excited by the opportunity to learn fencing in St.Patricks Park for free, taking part in an outdoor yoga class and especially Nighthawks at the Guinness Storehouse which will involve 7 music and comedy acts.
Official Conor McGregor ( UFC) Fight Night Afterparty
Were you lucky enough to get tickets to the fight of the summer? The notorious Conor McGregor is fighting for both the first time at home and since his injury last year. It's going to be incredible and we can't wait to see him back fighting fit (no pun intended) again. If you didn't score tickets to the fight then don't despair, you can still get tickets to the official after party in Sin Nightclub, Temple Bar, which will also be screening the fight live.
St.Anne's Park Rose Festival
If you fancy something a little more chilled out this weekend then why not check out the St.Annes Park Rose Festival this weekend. It's a free festival and will take place on Saturday and Sunday in St.Anne's Park & Rose Garden, Clontarf. Its a family event with musical, horticultural lectures, food stalls, farmers markets and more to enjoy.
Giro de Wicklow
If you're a cycling enthusiast then why not challenge yourself this weekend with the Giro de Wicklow on Saturday, in aid of the Michael Codyre fund. You can choose between a 60 and a 105km distance.
Rotary Pier2Pier walk in aid of Temple St. Children's University Hospital
Who says you need to run for charity? On Sunday, walk the two Piers in Dun Laoghaire with the The Rotary Club on their 6th Annual Pier2Pier walk in Dun Laoghaire, in aid of Temple Street Children's University Hospital. You can sign up here.
