All eyes will be on Britain’s favourite redhead this weekend as he prepares to put on a show for thousands of adoring fans. But enough about Prince Harry, Ed Sheeran continues his run at the Phoenix Park on Friday and Saturday evening.
Fans will no doubt want to wet their whistle and fill their bellies before the big day and there’s a couple of big sporting events on the telly so we’ve compiled a list of great pubs to head to beforehand.
All seven pubs are located right next to or a short walk away from the Phoenix Park so it won’t take you long to rock up before Ed takes to the stage around 8.45pm.
Take your pick:
1. The 12th Lock
Located right next to Castleknock train station, this canalside spot is just the job for a pre-concert feed and some drinks.
The Phoenix Park is a further half hour or so walk away or you can hop on the train for just two stops to Ashtown.
2. deBrúns
Right in the heart of Castleknock Village, ‘the home of the creamy pint’ is a short walk from the Phoenix Park gates.
3. Hole In The Wall
Ireland’s longest pub lies against the walls of the Phoenix Park on Blackhorse Avenue. You might recognise the name from the attention the pub gets around Christmas time.

4. The Anglers Rest
A fine spot in the Strawberry Beds for sitting outside when the sun is out.

5. Cumiskey’s
A stone’s throw from the Hole In The Wall, Cumiskey’s is a great local which will serve as a fine host to Sheeran fans this weekend.

6. Myos
Probably Castleknock’s most famous pub, Myos is another spot that’s just a short distance from the park gates.
7. Halfway House
Right next to Ashtown train station on the Maynooth line, it’ll take you no time at all to head to the park after a few pints.
Also, they’ve got a massive Ed Sheeran head. What more could you want? More information here.
