Looking for something to do this weekend? Course you are, you always are.
Well you’re in luck, because one of Dublin’s most popular attractions has just reopened in a new location after being closed for several months — and it’s got some major additions.
The relocation of the attraction has been part of an effort to bring the whole thing up to date, boasting new waxworks and more space, with sections on Star Wars, science and history, Irish writing, fantasy, The Simpsons, Father Ted and more.
And their horror section has gotten even spookier — perfect for all you easily terrified folks.
Here’s a handful of their new additions…
Just think of all those photo ops.
But it’s not just their wax models that have been updated, they’ve even launched a brand new ‘augmented reality’ app for the museum. The Wax Magic app actually brings the waxworks to life, with the characters being able to speak to you if you hold your phone in front of them. It also lets visitors play games while in the museum and collect points.
Very hi-tech altogether.
To celebrate their new location, The National Wax Museum Plus is also running an unusual competition right now. The prize is your very own personalised wax hand, which is made by dipping your hand into a solution, making whatever sign you want and then choosing its colour. All you have to do for your chance to win it is pose in the stocks in front of the museum’s entrance and tweet the picture with @waxmuseumplus.
Like so.
Will you be paying their new location a visit?
You can find The National Wax Museum Plus on 22-25 Westmoreland Street. Adult tickets are €15, but there’s a 10% discount if you buy them online HERE.
