‘Grease’ Will Be Shown At An Outdoor Cinema After Sunset This Friday

seank

We’re all in the mood for a little summer lovin’, so why not get in the spirit by rewatching the classic that is Grease

The 1978 musical tells the story of greaser Danny (John Travolta) and good girl Sandy (Olivia Newton John), whose summer romance becomes complicated when the pair discover they’re now in the same high school…

The film is the second instalment in the Happenings outdoor cinema’s #SummerCinema season at Merrion Square, having kicked off with Big last week.

Since you want that whole ‘summer nights’ ambiance when watching Grease, the film won’t kick off until it’s dark enough, which will be about 10pm.

Check out the film’s original trailer below to get in the mood.

As per usual, the best of Dublin’s food and drink vendors will be on hand for all your popcorn, coffee, and burger needs.

The organisers recommend bringing blankets and warm clothing, as well as arriving early to get the best seats and intriguingly unspecified “free stuff”.

Tickets are €5.80, they’re on sale over on usheru until 2pm on the day of the screening (you can find them here) and there will also be plenty available on the door.

Grease will be screened at Merrion Square this Friday night, doors open at 8pm and the film will kick off around 10pm.
