Phoenix Park is probably the most under utilised amenity in Dublin city. It’s one of the largest parks in a European capital and home to the Áras an Uachtaráin. It’s a top spot for all sorts of sports races and competitions including walking, running, cycling, and footie to name a few.
The animals in Phoenix Park are a big attraction as it’s a sanctuary to many animals, at this time of year the deer are especially popular as they seem to share more than a passing resemblance to Rudolph. The park is also home to the Victorian People’s Flower Gardens as well as a tea house where you can pick up a cup of tea to heat you up after exploring the park for the day. There’s so much to explore in Phoenix Park, check out photographer Derek Kennedy’s photo series below which captures some of the many sights of the park.
