PICS: This Francis Street Cocktail Bar Looks Seriously Cool On The Inside

We paid Drop Dead Twice a visit recently and were seriously impressed by the place.

Having only opened back in October, and since they took a break over January, you may not have had the time to try out the Francis Street spot just yet.

But we'd recommend you take the time.

Here's how it works: you bring you own booze and pay for a two-hour slot, which is €25 on Friday and Saturday and €15 on Wednesday and Thursday, and in that time the mixologists on hand will whip up a variety for a cocktails based on your personal preferences (they made us something that tasted exactly like a jam doughnut).

While you can order standard cocktails, the beauty of this place is that there is no fixed menu, so your drinks are literally being invented on the spot.

If the concept and the service isn't enough to entice you, then the decor might do the trick.

Created by Mick Jennings, who is also one of the bar's mixologists, the artwork adorning Drop Dead Twice's walls draws inspiration from 1950s americana, heavily influenced by Saul Bass, who was responsible for hundreds of iconic movie posters.

Speaking to the Drop Dead Twice team, Lovin Dublin was informed that they're proving especially popular for first dates on Tinder – which bar tenders can spot a mile off.

Since it makes for a unique dating experience, the crew will be serving a Valentine's Day Martini for the special occasion: a strawberry-flavoured Valentini made with either gin or rum.
