PICS: This Stunning New Spot Opened On Ormond Quay Recently – And It’s Going To Be Massive

seank

The second Bagots Hutton opened less than two weeks ago and you should be very excited about it.

A more ambitious vision than the original location, their new Ormond Quay spot is bigger, more beautiful, and it really has got something for everyone.

There are three very distinct areas to the place: the front, back, and basement. Brightly lit and overlooking the Liffey, the front is for the daytime customers, stopping in for their tea, coffee and lunch at the coffee bar.

The back is a very different story. The high-ceiling room, with an enormous skylight at its centre, is where you’ll find the stage. Here you’ll be able to enjoy live music on speakers boasting spec on par with that of the 3Arena.

In this area, you’ll be able to enjoy a light bites menu – think meat and cheese boards, pizzas, and oysters.

The large, exposed brick room also boasts eye-catching antiques, like an ornate eighteenth century chandelier, and salvaged chairs that will remind you of primary school (because they are from a primary school).

The basement is where you’ll want to head if you’re all about the fine dining. The cave-like area is dark and intimate, with custom made booths lining the walls. Diners can see directly into the kitchen down here, with its impressive pizza oven on show.

It was a conscious choice by the owners to give each of these areas something to entertain the customer: the front with its coffee bar, the back with the stage, and the basement with its kitchen.

The original Bagots Hutton is New York-esque wine bar located in a basement on South William Street, famed for its vast wine menu and charcuterie boards. Their new place is taking that idea to a whole other level.

“It was the original concept, but we had to start smaller”, says co-owner Giovanni Viscardi. “We felt like we had to prove ourselves with the first place. We feel like, really, this is what we wanted to achieve”.

When asked what he thinks the main attraction of their new place is, Viscardi said,

We’re providing everything you want in one place: it’s a restaurant in a nightclub atmosphere. It’s going to be a destination.

You’ll find the new Bagots Hutton at 6 Ormond Quay Upper.
