Music lovers are in for a real treat if they swing by The Workman’s Club tomorrow night at 7pm, as the deadly podcast No Encore is doing a live recording for its 50th episode anniversary.
If you haven’t already listened to the podcast, in which critic Dave Hanratty attempts to make sense of the music that finds its way to his ears, then you really should, because it’s pretty brill.
Featuring live music from the Choice Music Prize-nominated We Cut Corners, the equally Choice-nominated Bantum, Limerick alt-rock heroes Windings, and the sensational Farah Elle, you can expect an evening of pure sonar delights.
The night will also see a heap of special guests pop by to talk it out with hosts Dave Hanratty, Colm O’Regan and Craig Fitzpatrick.
As the event page itself says: “Think Jools Holland, without the lads joining in on boogie-woogie piano.”
Sounds like our kind of night for sure.
Tickets are an absolute steal too, at just €10 (excluding booking fees) online here, or you can get them for €12 on the door.
