13 Irish Short Films To Terrify You This Friday The 13th

seank

Since it’s Friday the 13th, we think some readers might be looking for a good scare tonight. We’d very much like to oblige you.

The Irish practically invented the horror genre – with the likes of Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Sheridan Le Fanu’s Carmilla – and our modern storytellers are keeping the spooky tradition up.

The list of short films below include creepy atmospheric types, some violent ones, and a few jump scares. We won’t tell you which ones are which though, that’d just spoil the fun.

Prepare to be thoroughly freaked out…

1. The Faeries of Blackheath Woods

2. Maisie

3. Thief

4. Buriel At Thornhill

5. Keening

6. He Dies At The End

7. Sinners

8. Hello

9. Under The Bed

10. Prodigal Son

11. The Ten Steps

12. Through The Storm

13. Foxes
