5 Awesome things to do in Dublin this weekend

Nicola

Think of the May Bank Holiday weekend and you usually think of sunshine (hopefully), pints, BBQ’s and relaxing. If you’re in the mood for something a little bit different then we have some brilliant suggestions for you.

Take a nice arty stroll through the museum of modern art. Accessible by car (parking just €2 for 3 hours), close to Luas, Train and bus services. They also have a yummy ITSA Cafe.

Fitness: MapMyRide

bikes

Hop on your bike or a handy Dublin bike and get pedalling. If you’re a novice on the bike or a bit rusty then a bank holiday when the roads are a bit quieter is the perfect time to get in the saddle. Map my Ride has loads of Dublin routes you can try out and is also brilliant for walks.

Theatre: Mario Rosenstock Gift Grub Live

The Olympia theatre is playing host to Mario Rosenstock’s Gift Grub Live and if it’s anything like his radio stuff then definitely not to be missed.

Wander: People’s Park market in Dun Laoghaire (Sunday)

One of the best markets in Dublin, the People’s market is perfect for wandering around – they’ve a huge variety of stall and it’s also dog friendly which we love. Our friends in Poulet Bonne Femme started out here too.

Laugh: The Laughter Lounge

The Laughter Lounge’s Text in the City is one of the funniest live shows we’ve ever been to – a modern day take on improv with suggestions for skits texted in from the audience instead of shouted out.

Whatever you do, have a great weekend!
