9 Thoughts We All Had While Robbie Keane Put Away THAT Goal Against Germany In 2002

aidan

Despite that amazing result in Stuttgart earlier in the qualifiers, it seems most of us aren’t too hopeful about getting a result tonight against the mighty Germans.

And you can hardly be surprised – O’Neill has opted to field a very strange-looking team, featuring the likes of Stephen Ward (who has only started one match for Burnley so far this year), against a team featuring Manuel Neuer, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil.

But hey. Let’s hope for one of those surprises we’ve become so adept at springing on international teams throughout our footballing history… and while Robbie may not be starting tonight, there seems no better time to reminisce upon perhaps his greatest moment in a green shirt.

Here are the nine thoughts we had – and will never forget – as he tucked away that never-to-be-forgotten equaliser in Yokohama, back in 2002.
