Are You Ireland’s Best Photographer? Here’s Your Chance To Represent Our Country At London Fashion Weekend

Canon Ireland is launching the ‘Canon Young Fashion Photographer of the Year’ competition to find Ireland’s best budding photographer.

Organised in partnership with DublinTown’s upcoming Dublin Fashion Festival, the contest aims to help amateur fashion photographers gain experience and exposure in the fashion industry and give them some incredible prizes for their efforts.

The winner of the photography competition will receive €500 worth of Canon products and the once-in-a-lifetime chance to photograph a fashion show featuring some of the best known labels and models in the industry at London Fashion Weekend this September.

Commenting on the competition, Jonothan Sultan, Marketing Manager for Canon Ireland said:

We are also excited to launch the inaugural Canon Fashion Photographer of the Year competition. As Ireland’s number one imaging brand, we are passionate about educating the next generation of young photographers and this competition will provide budding photographers with the opportunity to showcase their work to some of Ireland’s leading industry figures.

This year’s judging panel will include top fashion photographer, Barry McCall, Fashion Editor of the Irish Independent, Bairbre Power and marketing manager of Canon Ireland, Jonothan Sultan.

Entrants can submit up to five examples of their work via the Dublin Fashion Festival website here. All photographs submitted for judging cannot be published works, and the photographer must not have received payment for it.

A number of free photography talks will also be held during the Dublin Fashion Festival, where professional photographers will give advice on the trade.

The winner of the photography competition will be announced at a special event on the September 9 at Bank of Ireland, College Green. Closing date for entries is 5pm on Thursday, August 20.
