At €14,000 This Is Ireland's Most Expensive Train Journey

The Belmond Grand Hiberian have just launched their Irish routes and although they look spectacular they don't come cheap

The prices have just been revealed for the high-end Orient Express train called the Belmond Green Hibernian that will travel around Ireland and they are mouthwatering to say the least! While there are shorter trips the full package which would see you stay on board for six nights and seven days comes in at a whopping €14,000. For that price you'll get a double or twin cabin as plush as a high end hotel, and with stunning views as you travel the length and breadth of our beautiful island.

The tour includes activities and is aimed at overseas travelers (Americans mainly) coming here with large budgets to spend. The company have similar trains in other countries and the Irish scenery should make this a unique experience. With 5 star food on board and only the finest wines it certainly makes a change from what most of us experience on Irish trains - a mixture of standing room only, cold tea and wet sandwiches.
