Stuck on a gift for your mate who is tricky to buy for? Is the time ticking away and you haven’t a clue what to purchase?
Never fear, here are eight things you can buy for the modern friend that they will absolutely love you for.
And they can be bought seriously last minute (even Christmas morning) which is always good to know.
1. Spotify Premium
For the music lover in your life, this is the gift we would buy ourselves, if we could afford it.
Also, anything with the word ‘premium’ in the name is going to make you feel a bit glam.
2. A Yoga gift card
For the fitness fiend who needs a good stretch every so often. YogaHub do whopper deals over Christmas, check them out here.
3. A weekend getaway
And, no, that doesn’t mean you have to go far.
Check out spots just outside of Dublin like Powerscourt or The K Club. And if money’s an issue, rent out an Airbnb on the coast somewhere for cheap and bask yourself in Ireland for a bit.
4. A Netflix subscription
The movie buff in your life will worship you for supplying their fix.
5. Cheap flights
For your friend who wants to travel the world, but needs a bit of a push.
Airlines, Ryanair in particular, have been giving away insanely cheap flights as of late, and we can only expect more of the same this January.
6. A Kindle subscription
Books are always, always good gifts. And now you can have all of the books in a handy contraption.
Do it for your book-worm friend with the whopper imagination, they’ll love you for it.
7. Tickets
These go across the board. Surprise your friend with an experience rather than a gift – if you’re feeling particularly flush, you could get in those EP tickets before they inevitably sell out in August.
Alternatively, you could plan a trip to Limerick citaaaaay to catch Leinster vs Munster on the 27th – or check out the Connacht showdown on New Year’s Day in the RDS if you want to stay closer to home.
8. A whopper meal in a spot they haven’t tried yet
Have your foodie friends always been dying to hit up a certain restaurant but never got the chance? Now they do, cause you’re a cracking mate.
Call up a reservation and say to your friend that the meal is on you. And better still, bring them to one of the great places in Dublin that opened in the latter half of 2015 – somewhere from this list that they haven’t tried out yet.
