After a group of youths started a fight on a Dart last night, the gardaí had to be called to the Salthill and Monkstown train station.
A large group of teenagers boarded the train last night and caused a disturbance by loudly singing and shouting, before a fight broke out between five of the group which resulted in the Dart being stopped at the Salthill and Monkstown station.
Gardaí were called to the scene to resolve the situation and the Dart resumed service after half an hour.
Cormac Devlin, a local Fianna Fáil councillor, said that it’s “unacceptable that Dart services can be held hostage by a group of thugs.”
The public have every right to expect a reliable service and feel secure as they go about their business
